Update from Gordon Gilman December 4, 2012:
The project on the ranch went very well. I have to give all the credit to the property owners and David Roe from Pro Inc., who was the contractor for the work. We removed a great deal of fuel and in a couple of years it will be the show place of the development. Thanks to all who helped to reduce the fire hazard in this area of the development. We removed more than 30 loads of dead and down fuel which would only add to a wild fire if we had one. This also protects the property owners who are adjasent to the fuel reduction area.
I can’t say enough good about how cooperative the property owners were to work with on this project. Fred Davis, Harry Scott, Don Babinchak and the Olsens, were willing to do so much to protect themselves and their neighbors. They gave up a little to save so much for the future of the Lava Ranch Property owners. Thanks !!! I hope every property owner noticed the work that was accomplished along a number of roads. Pro Inc., Harry Scott, and I think Mr. Thompson were the ones who removed the small brush and trees along many of the roads. This was not part of our project but it was work the really needed to be done. This work was provided by the association and will be a great help in getting continued funding for future projects. Thanks Again.

The Chipper was used a lot this summer and we thank all those who were again willing to remove the fuel hazards on their property. We could have used Rick Cornfort more this past summer. He has a chipper and will do some chipping in the development. So don’t for get Rick who will come and chip up your piles of limbs and brush for the first three hours of work which is free to you. Three Rivers pays Rick and we thank him for his great work. The big chipper is ready to be scheduled for next summer. Just call me and I will get you on the list when it is convenient for you.
The final reason I am writing is to remind all property owners that I really need your volenteer forms for the hours everyone of you spend removing fuel from your property. I know you do so much each year and we need just your hours so we can use those hours of your work, to apply for grants to fund projects on the Lava Ranch. Just send your WFEP In kind match form or just make a note on a sheet of paper and send it to me at:

Thanks again and have a great winter and I will see you next summer. Gordon.

Important: Three Rivers for the Shaded Fuel Brake Project Schedule
Important: Three Rivers for the Shaded Fuel Brake Project August 20, 2012 Update:
Three Rivers RC& has completed the fuel reduction project on lots 410,411,412,413,414, and 405. We are excite to have another shaded fuel break completed on Lava Ranch Development. Each project helps the entire Property Owners Association to protect their valuable investments. Harry Scott, Don Babincheck, Fred Davis, and Brent Olsen have been cooperators on this project. We are hopeful that others will have the vision to invest their property in the future. Each project in fuel reductions makes the forest healthier and develops a better habitat for the wildlife we all enjoy. Thanks again for all the support of the Lava Ranch association.
Remember the Chipper can be rented from me Gordon Gillman at 208-776-5623 or my Cell phone 208-317-2647.
Also remember to submit your volunteer fuel reduction papers in the mailbox at the water station. We need your support to get new grants to continue funding fuel reduction projects on Lava Ranch. Thanks.
P.S. I also give free home or trailer site evaluations to help you know what needs to be accomplish on you individual properties. Gordon Gillman
